Hi! My name is Vickie Tackett, the founder of Ms. Vickie’s Daycare. I first opened our home daycare in July 2001, after becoming a licensed child care provider in the state of California. I have had the privilege of caring for children from 8 weeks to 5 years old—and watching them go off to succeed in Kindergarten!
Prior to 1999, when we moved to our present home in Lancaster, CA, I was a certified Preschool Teacher at schools in Santa Clarita, Anaheim Hills, and City of Orange. I received my teaching certificate from College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita with 33 units of Early Childhood Education. I am a member of the California Association of Family Care, and I’m currently serving as president for the Antelope Valley Day Care Association. I have taught all ages of preschool, from infants to pre-kindergarten.
I limit the number of students in my daycare to six, so that I can better tailor the daily activities and curriculum for every child. I firmly believe that children learn more, enjoy themselves more, and are better adjusted in an atmosphere where they are well taken care of, are nurtured properly—and where each child feels special. I pride my daycare in being current and compliant with all of California’s Title 22 regulations pertaining to operation of a daycare. My facility is safe, clean and most of all, FUN! Parents should always have peace of mind, knowing that their children are happy here in a family daycare setting.
