We’re a CA Licensed Child Care Provider…

Ms. Vickies Daycare is licensed as a small family day care home in California: License #192006976

In California, the Department of Social Services (DSS) is responsible for regulating and licensing child care providers. Ms. Vickie’s Daycare has been licensed by the DSS as a small family day care home since 2001. Our license allows us to care for six children (or eight children when certain age-grouping criteria are met). Note that we currently limit enrollment to six children, so we can offer more individual attention and create a “tailor-made” curriculum for each child. Pursuant to the requirements of our license, we fully comply with the health and safety requirements contained in Title 22 of the California Code of Regulations. The intention of all these regulations is to make sure the 39,000 family child care homes licensed in the state of California maintain a safe and healthy environment for our children. Some of the basic licensing requirements for providers are listed below:

  • Background checks – criminal records and child abuse clearance for all adults living in the home
  • TB test clearances
  • Home inspection by DSS for general health and safety requirements
  • Home must be clean and safe – dangerous items must kept out of children’s reach
  • Proper record-keeping and parent notification procedures
  • 15 hours of training including CPR, first aid, infection control and communicable disease

Vickie Tackett is both CPR and First Aid Certified. CPR and First Aid Training are renewed every 2 years. All family members have been background screened by the Department of Justice, as required by law.
